Discover the Secrets to a Happier, More Confident You

As we were growing up, people around us had a lot of opinions about us. Our parents, teachers, and even random strangers would tell us what we were good at, what we were bad at, what we could or couldn't do, and how we should behave. It's like we were a blank slate, taking in everything without questioning it.

For instance, if a teacher said we were bad at math, our mom said we were clumsy, or someone said we were too short, we accepted it as truth. These critical voices often hold us back, hindering our growth, and making us question our true potential.

But we never realized that such beliefs are often the result of other people's opinions that are stuck in our subconscious minds and affect our present behavior and actions.

The good news is that we can change these beliefs to get better results. We can replace our old, limiting mental programs with better ones through positive self-talk. It's never too late to upgrade ourselves and unleash our full potential! We can achieve this by self-talk.

What is Self-talk:

We all have a little voice in our heads that we call self-talk, whether we realize it or not. It's like a running commentary that can be spoken words or just unspoken thoughts, and it can take many forms, including feelings, impressions, or even wordless physical responses.

Sometimes, we're so used to it that we don't even notice it's there, but if we consciously observe it, we can see how it runs in our heads all the time. It can show up in many ways, like little flashes of thoughts that never quite catch fire or glow bright enough to become ideas.

And these thoughts, beliefs determine our attitudes, create our feelings, and direct our actions. Ultimately, it can either help us do well and succeed or hold us back and lead to failure. So, it's important to be aware of our self-talk and beliefs to make sure we're on the path to success.

Why do we get stuck with unhealthy belief system:

When we're born, we're dependent, we have no information who we're and we can do. We rely on others; we believed what they said. And all these information get stored in our brain. Now whenever we come across any new information, we try to cross check with our existing information stored in our brain to classify what is it. And our brain has a natural tendency to attract and accept thoughts and ideas that align with our existing beliefs. It's like we have a mental filter that only lets in information that confirms what we already know.

As a result, the more we think about something in a particular way, the more we believe it to be true. This is because our brain is always trying to connect new information with what we already believe.

However, this can lead us to become blissfully ignorant of the truth about ourselves. We get so caught up in our existing beliefs that we may overlook something that could make a real difference in our lives. We forget to challenge our beliefs to uncover the truth about ourselves.

How to get rid of unhealthy belief:

We need to replace old with new. When we bring it our awareness that our inner critical voice and unhealthy thoughts and beliefs are not our own and keeping us stuck, we need to replace them with new, healthy belief system. And to achieve that we need to feed this information in our brain until our brain follows it by using positive self-talk.

  • Identify your limiting beliefs: The first step to changing your beliefs is to recognize them. Take a close look at your thoughts and identify any negative beliefs that are holding you back.

  • Challenge your beliefs: Once you've identified your limiting beliefs, it's time to challenge them. Ask yourself if they are based on facts or just assumptions. Look for evidence that contradicts your negative beliefs.

  • Replace negative thoughts with positive ones: Start to replace your negative self-talk with positive affirmations. Instead of telling yourself that you can't do something, tell yourself that you can. Focus on your strengths and celebrate your successes.

Positive self-talk:

Positive self-talk is like having our own personal cheerleader in our head! It's the voice that motivates us to believe in ourselves and our abilities, even when things get tough. It is the self-talk which stirs us to action, fills us up with self-belief, and plants our feet firmly on the solid bedrock of success.

For example:

Imagine you have a big job interview coming up.

Instead of telling yourself, "I'm not good enough for this job" or "I'm so nervous I'll mess it up", you can use positive self-talk to calm your nerves and build your confidence.

You might say to yourself, "I am well-prepared for this interview, and I have the skills they're looking for" or "I'm excited for this opportunity to showcase my talents".

Or let's say you're training for a marathon and you're starting to feel discouraged.

Instead of telling yourself, "I'll never be able to run that far" or "I'm not a runner", you can use positive self-talk to push yourself further. You might say to yourself, "I am strong and capable, and I can do hard things" or "I am making progress every day, and I'm proud of myself for trying".

The way we talk to ourselves can have a big impact on our mindset and our ability to achieve our goals.

Use words to create a positive mental picture in your head:

Take a moment to think about the things you say to yourself. Listen to everything you say when you speak. Do they paint the picture of the person you want to be?

If not, then it's time to rephrase them. Learning to talk positively to yourself is like giving yourself a makeover from the inside out.

To make a change, give your brain a clear picture of what you want it to create. Give your subconscious mind a painting of the new you and say, "This is the real me that I want you to make happen!"

Conclusion:

So, keep positive talks up until your subconscious mind believes in it. Remember, the subconscious mind will believe anything you tell it if you tell it long enough and strongly enough.
