Celebrate Lunar New Year with These Healthy Whole Wheat Dumplings

Have you been craving for those scrumptious perfect looking dumplings posted over Instagram? But also worried about your diet as Valentine's Day is approaching?


Worry not, try this EASY- GUILT FREE- WHOLE WHEAT DUMPLING recipe 🥟


Wheat Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients:


For the filling:

  • 250 gms minced chicken

  • 1/2 cup chopped spring onions

  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp black pepper powder

  • 1/2 tbsp sesame oil (optional)

  • Salt to taste


For the dumpling wrapper:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

  • 1 tbsp ghee

  • Salt to taste


Procedure:


  1. Add the minced chicken to the bowl, to it add the chopped spring onion.

  2. To this add the dark soy sauce, black pepper powder, sesame oil, and salt. Your dumpling filling is ready!

  3. For the dumpling wrapper, mix the ghee and salt in the flour. Knead it into a dough.

  4. To make the chicken dumplings, divide the dough into equal portions and roll them into small circles.

  5. Place the filling in the middle, fold it in half, then pinch the sides. Or else you can make them in any shape you want.


Method 1 for Steamed Dumplings:


  • Put the steamer with water on the stove. Let it boil.

  • Spray some oil over the tray. Place the dumplings over it.

  • Let it steam for 15-20 mins.


Method 2 for Pan-fried Dumplings:


  • Place a pan on the stove; put some oil in it.

  • Put the dumplings in the pan, let them crisp from the bottom.

  • Mix cornstarch and water into a slurry. Pour it into the pan.

  • Let it steam for 15-20 mins.


Your DELICIOUS DUMPLINGS are ready to eat!
