100% Whole Wheat Spicy Chilli Oil Wontons- Asian Cuisine

Do you love Asian Cuisine? Do you love Spicy Food? Do you love Wontons?

Then this is the PERFECT WEEKEND MEAL for you as- EASY TO MAKE - KICK-ASS SPICY - GUILT-FREE dinner ready in minutes! What more can you ask for, RIGHT?!

Ingredients-

For the filling-

  • 250 gms minced chicken

  • 1/2 cup chopped spring onions

  • 2 tbsp dark soya sauce

  • 1 egg with yolk

  • 1 tbsp black pepper powder

  • Salt to taste


For the wonton wrapper-

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

  • 1 tbsp ghee

  • Salt to taste


Wonton preparation-

  1. Add the minced chicken to the bowl, to it add the chopped spring onion and an egg with yolk. Further add the dark soya sauce, black pepper powder, and salt. Your wonton filling is ready!

  2. For the wonton wrapper, mix the ghee and salt in the flour. Knead it into a dough. Use can use readymade wrappers too.

  3. To make the chicken wonton, divide the dough into equal portions and roll them into circles. Try to keep the size as small as possible as they will swell up when cooked in water.

  4. Place the filling in the middle, roll it over, then pinch the opposite sides together. Or else you can make them in any shape you want.


Cooking-

  1. Add water and salt in a pot and allow it to boil.

  2. Once the water starts to boil, carefully add the wontons one by one.

  3. Wait for it to float. Once it starts to float, cook for another 5 mins. This should take about 12-15 mins.

  4. Take the cooked wontons out in a bowl.


Spicy Chilli Oil-

  1. Take some minced garlic (depends on how much you love garlic!), to it add finely chopped spring onions and red chillies.

  2. Heat oil in a pan over low heat and allow it to reach a sizzling temperature.

  3. Add the oil to the garlic and spring onions, can you hear the SIZZLE?

  4. To it add dark soya sauce, vinegar, salt, sugar. Mix it all together. Your Spicy Chili Oil is ready!


Serving-

  1. Take the cooked wontons out in a bowl.

  2. Pour the Spicy Chilli Oil all over it. Mix it all together.

  3. Garnish it with sesame seeds.

  4. Serve HOT!
