This is a homemade version of the Turkish dumplings with a garlicky smooth yogurt sauce, covered with a beautiful luxurious red chili butter sauce. This is not your usual dumpling recipe, it's extraordinary and tantalizing culinary art!
Ingredients -
For the dough:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 egg
¼ cup lukewarm water
Salt to taste
For the filling:
200g minced chicken
1 chopped finely onion
¼ bunch chopped finely parsley
Salt to taste
1 tsp of black pepper
For the Yogurt Sauce:
1 cup yogurt
2 cloves minced garlic
Salt to taste
For the Butter Sauce:
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp red chili flakes
Procedure-
Make the dough by combining flour, eggs, salt, and water until everything holds together. Knead it for 5-10 minutes. It shouldn't be too soft.
To prepare the filling. In a bowl, combine ground meat, finely chopped onions, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix it well and put it aside.
Sprinkle some flour on the counter to roll out the dumpling wrappers. Grab the dough ball and roll it out, neither very thin nor too thick. Cut it first into strips, then into small squares.
Add a little of the prepared filling to the center of the square. Close them to give the shape of a wonton.
To cook the manti or the dumplings. Heat water in a pot, and add a pinch of salt and a few drops of oil. Bring it to a boil. Slowly and carefully add in the dumplings and let them simmer for 10-12 minutes or until it's cooked.
For the yogurt sauce, mix yogurt, salt, and minced garlic. Use fresh yogurt only.
For the butter sauce, melt butter in a pan and add olive oil and red chili flakes. Stir and remove from the heat.
To serve, place the dumplings on a plate, pour yogurt sauce on the dumplings, and drizzle a little butter sauce over them. Your delicious Manti or Turkish Dumplings are ready to be served.
